Requirements needed to enter Tanzania:

All arriving clients must complete the Traveler’s Health Surveillance form within 24 hours prior to arrival. Fully vaccinated are exempted from both RT PCR and Rapid Antigen Test requirements.

Travelers will be required to present a valid vaccination certificate with QR code for verification upon arrival. The only accepted vaccines are those which have been approved by the URT and the World Health Organization. Not fully vaccinated, unvaccinated and those not eligible for vaccination (due to their country policy) will be required to present a negative COVID-19 RT- PCR or NAATs certificate with QR code obtained within 72 hours before departure.

Passengers who are not fully vaccinated or unvaccinated who arrive in Tanzania with no negative COVID-19 RT PCR certificate will be tested for COVID-19 upon arrival using a Rapid Antigen Test at a cost of USD10 for mainland Tanzania, except children aged 12 years and below. If found positive, a further RT PCR test will be administered at a cost of USD 50. For ground crossing, positive cases will be handled according to bilateral and joint border agreements.

All travelers arriving directly at Zanzibar must complete the Traveler’s Health Surveillance form within 24 hours prior to arrival. If arriving from the mainland, the completion of the Zanzibar form is not required.

We provide a Jeep Land Cruiser with a removable rooftop for a complete viewing experience, mineral water for refreshments, all national parks entrance fees and according to the itinerary, accommodation and meals.

Yes, we apply different penalties:

• 10% if you cancel more than 60 days before your tour
• 20% penalty if you cancel between 30 and 60 days earlier
• 50% if you cancel with 15 to 30 days notice
• 75% penalty if you cancel with 7 to 14 days notice
• 100% if you cancel with less than a week notice.

For the down payment, we accept payments via wire transfer and for the final payment, you can pay us in cash or credit card when you arrive.

You can fly to the international Kilimanjaro airport since all of our safaris start in Arusha. Safaris that include travel to Zanzibar already include the flight. We will drop you off at Arusha or the airport at the end of your safari.

As the visa process started to get slower, since August 2019, we recommend getting the visa online here. Do note the e-visa can take up to 3 weeks to be processed so if you are going to arrive soon, we recommend getting it on arrival. Also, if you are entering through an overland transfer between Maasai Mara and Serengeti (Isebania or Tarime border), it is still preferable to get the visa ON ARRIVAL.

The visa costs $50 USD per person except for U.S Citizens who pay $100 USD per person. Some countries do require a referral visa in advance. Somalia, Sri Lanka, Somali land, Sierra Leone, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Syria and Yemen.

Please keep in mind your passport needs to have at least 6 months of validity in any case.

Setting an appointment with a travel doctor in your home country is essential before you come. Depending on the circumstances, you may have to take a vaccine for yellow fever and prophylaxis pills to prevent malaria. Suppose you are travelling to Zanzibar or coming (or have a transit) to a country where yellow fever is endemic. In that case, proof of vaccination against yellow fever may be requested at the airport.

We recommend it because we like to start our safaris early in the morning and on the last day, we like to avoid having to worry about reaching the airport on time. But since our priority is to provide you with a smooth vacation, we can start the safari when you arrive at the airport and finish it with a drop-off at the airport. In those cases, we always recommend flights arriving in the morning for the first day and, on the last day, booking your flight in the evening.

Since June 1st 2019, plastic carrier bags, regardless of their thickness, have been prohibited from being used on Tanzania’s mainland. However, plastic carrier items known as “Ziploc bags”, specifically used to carry toiletries, will be permitted as they are expected to remain in the permanent possession of visitors and are not to be disposed of in the country.

We recommend:

• All necessary documents: passport, vaccine certificate and others that might apply.
• Medication you might need: This should include medication for possible everyday situations like headaches or diarrhea.
• Sunblock, sunglasses, hat, lip balm and moisturizer.
• Personal camera: we recommend bringing a wide lens (about 17-55mm) for scenery pictures and a telephoto lens (in the 200-400mm range) to catch animals at a distance.
• Binoculars: We provide a pair of premium quality binoculars per vehicle but feel free to bring your own. Binoculars really make a big difference on a safari.
• Clothes: Comfortable and casual clothing with khaki, beige or green colours. You should pack T-shirts, shirts with long sleeves, jeans, a sweater and a jacket (for the cold mornings), swimwear (if the accommodation you selected has a pool or if you do a beach extension) and comfortable hiking shoes.
• Insect repellent.
• An adaptor for G Type Plugs.
